Building a sustainable future for paws in need.
Building a sustainable future for paws in need.
A shared journey - homeward bound.
As we take this bold step forward, building a new facility is about more than bricks and mortar; it’s about securing the long-term well-being of the animals we serve and the community that stands behind them. To ensure our shelter remains a haven not just for today, but for generations to come, we’re investing in innovative, practical, and community-supported solutions that will make our operations more self-sustaining, compassionate, and resilient.
Pet Crematorium & Memorial Services
Saying good-bye.
Recognizing that pets are family, our on-site crematorium provides respectful aftercare for beloved animals, while also creating a vital revenue stream. As the only facility of its kind within 170 km, it allows grieving families to say goodbye with dignity—ensuring their final journey is guided by compassion.
On-Site Veterinary Centre
Compassionate care.
Our dedicated veterinary space will reduce costs, improve response time, and enhance care for the animals in our shelter. With a separate public entrance, this facility also opens doors to future low-cost community services - keeping pets healthy and homebound.
Retail & Merchandise
Sharing the love.
With more space, proper storage, and a welcoming reception area, we can expand our merchandise offerings. From branded apparel to pet starter kits and memorial keepsakes, our retail sales support shelter operations and connect supporters to our mission.
SPCA Bookstore
Books that give back.
Our beloved community bookstore is located off-site in the downtown core of Swift Current. It remains a valued revenue resource and community asset, offering gently used books while generating consistent income for the shelter.
Microchipping & Pet ID Services
A safe return home.
By offering microchipping directly from our shelter, we help pets and their people stay together. This low-cost service reunites lost animals with their families - and brings peace of mind to pet owners across the region.
Municipal Partnerships & Support
Community Roots, Shared Responsibility
Serving over 44 municipalities, we are deepening partnerships with cities, towns, and RMs. Through bylaw support, animal control collaboration, and shared service agreements, we’re building a stronger regional network for animal welfare- together.
